In August 2025, a group of three lecturers from the RPTU (Dr Diehl, Dr Sögding, Dr Muñoz, Environmental and Soil Chemistry Research Group) travelled to Kenya to hold two workshops.
Workshop 1:
This was aimed at women in agriculture, who were taught didactic and semi-quantitative methods for determining basic soil parameters such as moisture, water-holding capacity, pH value, etc.
Workshop 2:
The second workshop was aimed at early-career researchers from the University of Nairobi (UoN), JKUAT and KALRO and was conducted in the KALRO’s facilities. The workshop included theoretical lectures delivered in collaboration with colleagues from KALRO’s Soil Department and a practical part about soil physical and chemical properties.
